The Gefion Fountain. Copenhagen, Denmark. The biggest monument in Copenhagen. It express the legend about how Zealand was made: The Swedish legend King Gylfe proposed the goddess Gefion that she could take as much land with her as she could plough in one day and night with 4 oxes. She transformed her 4 sons into oxes and they ploughed so deep that they lifted the land into the sea. The land became Zealand and the hole they left in Sweden became the great lake: Väneren. The monument was done by Anders Bundgaard and revealed in 1908.
